Invesco names new head of UK distribution as Alexander Miller leaves after 23 years, while in the US, Janus Henderson replaces a retiring head of retail. Plus, it’s all change in Singapore.

Invesco has made a number of appointments in its distribution and client solutions divisions.

Kate Dwyer (pictured above) has been promoted to head of UK distribution, replacing Alexander Millar who has left the business after 23 years.

It also promoted Sachin Bhatia as the head of UK pensions and Emea consultant relations to replace Chris Evans, who has left after nearly four years in the role.

The asset manager also promoted Charles Moussier as head of Emea insurance client solutions, Joel Marques as head of UK insurance distribution and Richard Glenn as head of Emea private markets distribution.

Thomas Body - UBP

Frankfurt

William Blair Investment Management has appointed Thomas Body as business development and client service manager.

Body (pictured above) joined from Union Bancaire Privée, where he was the private bank’s managing director, responsible for its asset management business in Germany and Austria. Before that, he spent three years as a business development director at Eaton Vance Management International.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Body held a number of management roles at Aberdeen Asset management where he was the head of Europe’s business development financial institutions.

Singapore

Aviva Investors has hired Richard Surrency for the newly created role of head of Asia-Pacific distribution.

Surrency joins from Franklin Templeton, where he spent the last two years as its head of private markets and alternatives in Asia Pacific, and a member of the asset manager’s Apac executive committee.

He has held a number of senior roles including Algebris Investments’ managing director in Asia and Morgan Stanley’s Asia executive director for its institutional equities division.

Surrency, who will be based in Singapore, will report to global head of distribution Scott Callander.

Scott Steele - Capital Group

Singapore

Capital Group has hired Scott Steele as its head of fixed income business development for Europe and Asia.

In this newly created role, Steele (pictured above) will be responsible for bolstering the investment firm’s fixed income distribution strategy and product development in Europe and Asia. 

He joins Capital Group from Janus Henderson Investors where he was the global head of fixed income client portfolio managers. Before that, he spent nine years at Pimco, where he held a number of senior roles including executive vice president, head of wealth management for Hong Kong and Singapore as well as head of institutional Asia excluding Japan.

He will report to Alexandra Haggard, the head of product and investment services for Europe and Asia.

Sabrina Gan - Fidelity

Singapore

Fidelity has appointed Sabrina Gan as the head of its Singapore business and Southeast Asia following Lawrence Hanson’s relocation to Sydney to run the asset manager’s Australia operations.

Gan (pictured above) joined Fidelity seven years ago as its head of private banking Asia ex-Japan and wholesale distribution in Southeast Asia. She has also worked in several roles in BlackRock and Schroders.

She will report to Rajeev Mittal, the managing director of Asia Pacific ex-Japan, and Johann Santer the head of private banking, wealth and strategic clients APAC ex-Japan.

Denver 

Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Michael Schweitzer as its North America head of retail distribution following the retirement of its current head John Ingram.

Schweitzer will oversee the fund’s overall direction, strategy, relationship management, customer sales support, as well as channel marketing and risk management. He joins from Capital Group where he was North America’s client group head of high-net-worth sales and distribution.

In his 30 years of industry experience, Schweitzer held a number of senior roles at HSBC, UBS and Merrill Lynch.
